Since my preteens I have battled with keeping my complexion clear. From 3-step programs to drugstore foams to herbal soaps, I have tried them all.
Honestly, they all worked to an extent. The salicylic acids and benzoyl peroxide were clearing me out as well as frying me out. The commercial cleansers were effective while the annoying fragrance relished in my nose for hours. The natural stuff worked, but I hated having to purchase it a specialty shops.
Now I am back to the basics. Skin care doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Simple everyday ingredients from the kitchen can do the job- and do it very well.
What I Use
- natural castile bar soap
- oil
- textured wash cloth
What I Do
- Wet the wash cloth and warm it in the microwave.
- Lather soap on face. optional*
- Steam my face with the wash cloth and exfoliate very well.
- Massage oil onto air dried skin.
That's it. It's simple, cost effective, and mostly all-natural. Try it out and tell me what you think.
*I don't use soap every time I wash my face. For me, twice a week is standard.
