Affordable, Simple, TRULY All-Natural Skincare

Since my preteens I have battled with keeping my complexion clear. From 3-step programs to drugstore foams to herbal soaps, I have tried them all.

Honestly, they all worked to an extent. The salicylic acids and benzoyl peroxide were clearing me out as well as frying me out. The commercial cleansers were effective while the annoying fragrance relished in my nose for hours. The natural stuff worked, but I hated having to purchase it a specialty shops.

Now I am back to the basics. Skin care doesn't have to be complicated or expensive. Simple everyday ingredients from the kitchen can do the job- and do it very well.

What I Use

  • natural castile bar soap
  • oil
  • textured wash cloth

What I Do
  1. Wet the wash cloth and warm it in the microwave.
  2. Lather soap on face. optional*
  3. Steam my face with the wash cloth and exfoliate very well.
  4. Massage oil onto air dried skin.

That's it. It's simple, cost effective, and mostly all-natural. Try it out and tell me what you think.

*I don't use soap every time I wash my face. For me, twice a week is standard.

Young boy with a fundraiser*stares*
Me: Yes?
Young boy with a fundraiser: Are your parent home?
Me: Yes. What do you want?
Young boy with a fundraiser: Can I speak to them?
Me: About what?
Young boy with a fundraiser: I'm...selling stuff.

Can I speak to your parents? *DEAD* I  l o v e being mistaken for a 12 year old. We stood at the same height, but I know I had at least 10 years on 'em.

Cheap, TRULY All Natural Hair Routine

Don't you hate spending tons of money on natural hair products to bring them home and they not work? The real kicker is when you start dissecting the ingredient list to find out the products are not truly  natural.

Antartica

I've been craving this Brazilian soda they serve at the churrascaria.

NOW I see why Texas de Brasil stopped offering it on the menu.

Curlformer Head!

This morning I woke up to a tight, compressed FRO! I am still not 100% comfortable with wearing my hear that way quite yet. So, in the meantime I like to wear stretched styles.

Curlformer Head!

So, I decided to dampen my hair with my homemade spritz/leave-in/pH balancer/(you get the idea) and slap some curlformers in my head. It's been a few hours and they are still damp. I will give them another few hours and decide whether or not to blow-dry them the rest of the way. A girl's got things to do!
